Wilhelmina Bay

February 16, 2006 Adult Humpback Whale fluke-up dive

This afternoon in Wilhelmina Bay we encounter several Humpback Whales feeding on krill in the area. These southern hemisphere animals grow much larger than their northern hemisphere relatives due to the incredible abundance of krill as a food resource.
